This story unfolds in a near future, in a gigantic town which seems endless. In an underground laboratory, which can be accessed by the sewers of the town, two scientists dressed in white are working on something. It has a human form, but it's made of metal, and it has only one arm. After hours of labor, the two scientists decide to stop working to take a nap. The robot is still lying on a table, and he doesn't move. But suddenly, his eyes become red, and he wakes up. An alarm begins to ring. The robot, scared, decides to run away and looks for an exit everywhere, eventually he finds a door. Unfortunately it's locked, but the robot decides to smash it. With its only arm, he gathers all the strength he has and manages to tear the door to pieces. He quickly escapes while he hears steps behind him, and finds himself in the sewers. He runs as quickly as he can, but he can hear his pursuers more and more distinctly.

In luck, he finds a ladder and climbs it, though with difficulty because of his missing arm. He finds himself in a really dark and narrow alley. His head hurts him, and he can't remember anything before his escape. In the streets, he's surprised to see others robots like him, some patrolling in the streets with guns, others working in workshops, a last one painting a building…Suddenly, his head hurts horribly, and in a flash of light he seems to remember something from his past : he sees an address, then collapses. When he wakes up, he's at the same place, but in the full night. He decides to look for that address. After days of research in this huge town, he finds the right address, but all there is is a ruined house. Digging into this heap of rubble, he finds nothing but a small photograph, with a family : the father, the mother, two little girls and a tall boy with a dragoon tatooed on its right arm. Despite its despair, the robot wants to know more about his past, and heads back to the laboratory.

He manages to find the way back, but the door he destroyed has been repaired. After smashing it a second time, he gets sure nobody is in there and proceeds cautiously. He searches all the laboratory, breaking everything, browsing shelves and books. Suddenly, he finds a suspicious big iron box with a lock on it. He breaks the seal and inside finds… an arm with a tatooed dragon.
